Twos: 24-29 months

We know that in the first two years of life hundreds of neural connections are formed every second. As our two-year-old class build upon previous learning, they build the foundation upon which all later learning, behavior, and health depend. For the 2024-2025 school year, this age level is for those children who have turned two by September 1, 2024. This is our second youngest group with eight – twelve children per class with a Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher. This program takes place Monday-Friday from 8:45am – 12:45pm.

Exploring and empowering the children’s curiosity and giving them the language skills necessary for Pre-Kindergarten are our main focus in these classes. The concepts of sharing and taking turns continue to be an important part of this program; therefore, early social and gross-motor skills are addressed through both small and large group activities, music, movement, and hands-on activities. The children create, manipulate and celebrate colors and shapes using a variety of materials. They also continue to build vocabulary and use words to communicate happiness, intention, questions and frustration. The two year olds participate in all in-house field trips. Potty training will also be addressed as the school year progresses.
