About Us

Pinecrest Presbyterian Church opened our Day School in 1962 as a mission to young children and their families in this area of Miami.

We offer both Preschool and Kindergarten programs and are licensed through the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). In the past several years we have upgraded our campus and expanded our facilities to meet the needs and expectations of our teachers and the children we serve.
We serve children 18 months through Senior Kindergarten in our Day School. We also provide an after-school care program for Pinecrest Elementary children. We follow the Miami-Dade County school calendar and observe the same legal holidays, vacations, and teacher planning days.

Our school is currently operating at a licensed capacity of 282 students, although we prefer to provide small class sizes which allows each child to blossom with individualized attention.

Our program helps each child develop to his or her maximum potential and receive the best education, care, and attention possible. Our long-range goals include building a strong and positive self-image while helping to develop a lifelong love of learning. We provide your child with developmentally-appropriate educational experiences. Our focus is hands-on activities that promote academic and social development.

All of our children participate in acts of kindness throughout the school year. Classes may make cards for residents at East Ridge Retirement Village to celebrate an event or bring some cheer. Each year children bring cans of soup in honor of the SOUPer Bowl to be donated to a local homeless shelter. Our families also provide a new pair of children’s shoes which we send off to an orphanage, refugee camp, or disaster area. We have participated in Trike-a-Thons for St. Jude Children’s Hospital and other worthy causes. This church serves lunch at a shelter each month and we love to bring homemade cookies. Sometimes our classes bake them or sometimes Day School families bake them and donate them. Our children learn that our love for others extends beyond our campus!

My youngest is currently attending. Pinecrest Presbyterian was been an amazing experience for my kids as well as my wife and I. PPDS felt like family from day one. The care and education they have given our children has been excellent. The staff is passionate and treat each child as their own.   Both of our children learned a great amount at PPDS and are advanced among their peers. This is obviously due to the great start they got at PPDS. My wife is especially happy because she always knows the children are safe while at PPDS. I strongly recommend them for anyone. They are simply the best.
