Kindergarten

This class runs from 8:30am – 2:15pm with up to twelve children in this class. Our small class size provides each student with the vital individual attention young children need.

In our Kindergarten program, children are taught to develop basic skills through lessons, creative play and social interactions. Our Kindergarten meets the Common Core State Standards. We use the Reading Wonders Language Arts program and the Wordly Wise workbooks for vocabulary. Our Florida Go Math! program offers an engaging and interactive approach to covering new state standards.

We provide our students with hands-on integrated learning. Children learn writing skills through the use of journals and with the Handwriting Without Tears program. Additionally, Science and Social Studies are incorporated into daily learning and the integration of technology is used as an extension of the learning experience. Children continue to have daily opportunities to explore the classroom learning centers because we understand the importance of our Kindergarteners' need for play. Like all of our programs, our Kindergarten provides developmentally appropriate and intellectually engaging learning experiences using hands-on activities throughout the day.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have an 8 year old and 5 year old. My eldest attended Pinecrest Presbyterian from age 2 to 4. My youngest is currently attending. Pinecrest Presbyterian was been an amazing experience for my kids as well as my wife and I. PPDS felt like family from day one. The care and education they have given our children has been excellent. The staff is passionate and treat each child as their own.   Both of our children learned a great amount at PPDS and are advanced among their peers. This is obviously due to the great start they got at PPDS. My wife is especially happy because she always knows the children are safe while at PPDS. I strongly recommend them for anyone. They are simply the best.
