2 1/2-year-olds: 30-36 months

The two-and-a-half year olds are continuing to build that foundation upon which all later learning, behavior, and health depend. This age level is for those children who have turned two by March 1. This group consists of up to fourteen children per class with a Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher. This program takes place Monday-Friday from 8:45am – 12:45pm.

The 2 ½ year old programs put an emphasis on the early education fundamentals children will need as they continue on to Pre-Kindergarten - including social and self-help skills. We do keep in mind that for most children, this class is their first experience in school. We want these children to continue to develop resilience. Our program respects each child’s emerging sense of self and growing need for independence.

Activities focus on verbal expression through music, stories, movement, and interactive play. The children explore, create and manipulate colors and shapes using a variety of materials. Activities also focus on fine and gross motor skill development in the classroom and during outdoor play.

Potty training will be addressed as the school year progresses.

My youngest is currently attending. Pinecrest Presbyterian was been an amazing experience for my kids as well as my wife and I. PPDS felt like family from day one. The care and education they have given our children has been excellent. The staff is passionate and treat each child as their own.   Both of our children learned a great amount at PPDS and are advanced among their peers. This is obviously due to the great start they got at PPDS. My wife is especially happy because she always knows the children are safe while at PPDS. I strongly recommend them for anyone. They are simply the best.
