Pre-K 4 (VPK)

Throughout the school year, this group develops the readiness skills necessary for Kindergarten: recognizing and writing letters and numbers; knowing letter sounds and numerical concepts; identifying shapes, colors, patterns and sequences. Motor skills are further refined through hands-on activities. Important socialization skills are introduced, honed, and practiced on a daily basis. The arts and sciences are explored using developmentally appropriate practices, not only in the classroom, but on the playground as well.

This level is for those children who are eligible for VPK. There are up to sixteen children in these classes. This program is from 8:30am – 2:15pm. The VPK program has successfully expanded opportunities for children to revisit concepts explore alternatives, extend a science experiment or art project, and further prepare for future success in school.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have an 8 year old and 5 year old. My eldest attended Pinecrest Presbyterian from age 2 to 4. My youngest is currently attending. Pinecrest Presbyterian was been an amazing experience for my kids as well as my wife and I. PPDS felt like family from day one. The care and education they have given our children has been excellent. The staff is passionate and treat each child as their own.   Both of our children learned a great amount at PPDS and are advanced among their peers. This is obviously due to the great start they got at PPDS. My wife is especially happy because she always knows the children are safe while at PPDS. I strongly recommend them for anyone. They are simply the best.
